Reading Corner

Now that routines have been established, all K-4 students are working hard during reading and writing workshop in the classroom.  During reading workshop time, students were recently administered initial assessments to help teachers guide their instruction.  Assessments included early reading skills such as rhyming and letter identification for kindergarteners.  Students in grades 1-4 took spelling assessments, as well an assessment that evaluated their abilities in regards to reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.  Someone from the reading support team should have been in contact with you if your child qualified for Title I reading, writing, or spelling support based on initial assessment results.
