Mr. Gambler

Welcome to the Honey Brook Music Room Web Page.

Thank you for visiting this page. My name is Matt Gambler - I teach K-4 General Music, 4th Grade Chorus, and 4th Grade Band here at HBEC. Please check back often for information and updates.

September 24th Update:

- Mr. Sergey Kravets is our student teacher from West Chester University. He has been with us since the beginning of the year and will finish on October 16th. He has been doing an amazing job working with our students!
- There currently is no band or chorus for 4th grade - these programs will be re-evaluated later this fall, based on current safety guidelines.
- Recorders should be available at home for all 3rd and 4th graders - we will not be playing in school, but once we begin recorder instruction, students will be asked to practice at home and submit flipgrids.

What will your child be doing in music class?

Students in grades K-4 have music 3 times every 12 day cycle. Music classes are 40 minutes long.

The music experience includes singing, playing instruments, listening, and moving. All students play Orff instruments, bucket drums, and classroom percussion instruments. Third and fourth graders use recorders and African drums, along with a variety of African percussion instruments, throughout the year.

Lessons are designed to meet the TVSD music curriculum, which is based on the Pennsylvania Arts and Humanities Standards and the National Music Standards. Units at each grade level focus on melody, rhythm, expression, harmony, and form.
